OUR MISSION

We aim to share the joy of flying, and show you how gorgeous Bermuda is from the air.

What We Do

Take you for a personalized private tour of the island, to see Bermuda from a new perspective.

We cruise over whatever you’d like to see specifically, and circle around if you need more time for photos or to spot your dog running around the yard.

What We Believe

That everyone in Bermuda should have the opportunity to experience flying in a small plane.

For visitors, to get a new level of appreciation for Bermuda. For locals, to have a new experience and view of our island home. That smile when someone flies for the first time is why we do it.

We’re also passionate about sharing aviation with the younger generation in Bermuda, and finding pathways towards a licence or a career as a pilot, so if you have questions please just ask.

Who It’s For

Adults, teens, kids, grandparents – flying in a small plane is probably smoother than you’d expect.

Our goal is for you to have the most amazing experience. If you’re nervous at all, just let us know, and we can talk you through everything to put you at ease.

Whatever we can do to make this the time of your life, please let us know.

OUR PEOPLE

All of us are passionate about giving you an exceptional experience and memories to last a lifetime.

Heather Nicholds

Owner & Pilot

Heather went up for her first flight in a small plane when she was in high school, and has been hooked ever since. She’s an environmentalist who loves the incredibly low fuel burn of our diesel C172, and eternally optimistic of finding blue skies to take you up in the air. When not flying, you’ll be likely to find her running the trails at Horseshoe, or finding some ice to go figure skating.

Lester Nelson

Pilot

Lester grew up in Warwick and spent summers at the beach watching Longtails while dreaming about being able to fly.
Commercial pilot for over 30 years, President of the Aircraft Owners and Pilots Association of Bermuda (AOPA-BDA).
Favourite things to do: flying, travelling with his wife, April, and experiencing other cultures, playing golf with his buddies.
Bucket list: To travel to every Formula One race at least once.

Tariq Lynch-Wade

Pilot & FAA CFI

Passionate about becoming a pilot since he was a young boy, there was no doubt that Tariq Lynch-Wade would learn all he could about the aviation industry. From ticket agent and baggage handler to Assistant Chief Flight Instructor, to airline pilot and aviation safety regulator, he enjoys all facets of the industry.
Tariq holds both FAA and Hong Kong Airline Transport Professional License with multiple jet aircraft type ratings.
He maintains his Flight Instructor certificates for both single engine and multi-engine land so that he can snatch any opportunity to help someone else achieve their dream of becoming a pilot.

Jaret Simmons

Pilot

Jaret completed his commercial flight training in Jamaica, regularly flying around the coast and over or between mountains. He’s excited to be back home in Bermuda, settling into life as a new homeowner, and flying as often as he can. He is currently working towards converting his ratings to an FAA licence.

OUR PLANE

VQ-BDA, fondly known as Vix, is a Cessna 172R with a diesel turbocharged engine.

We purchased Vix in February of 2020, not knowing what lay ahead. Because of COVID interfering dramatically with international logistics and some other challenges, her arrival in Bermuda was significantly delayed. Getting the necessary operating approvals and certifications also took some time, until we started operations in January of 2024.

There were definitely more than a few low points in those 4 years, questioning whether it was worth continuing. The dream that kept things moving forward was knowing the value that a small airplane could have for the community.

A Cessna 172 is the most common training airplane in the world, and for young people in Bermuda who think they may want to be a pilot, a flight in a small plane is one of the best first steps to take. Having that available locally takes a huge part of the challenge out of the equation. We are continually working on offering different programs for classroom sessions and simulator training, to build knowledge and also help gauge if the dedication is there to get through the work required to get a pilot’s licence.

Through all the challenges in getting running, it forged a deeper connection with our purpose and gratitude for what we’ve built. What doesn’t break us only makes us stronger, and Vix is just as happy to be here as we are to have her on island.

Vix gets a regular clean & wax to keep all surfaces shiny and prevent corrosion in our very humid and salty environment. When flying through the air, we always see salt condense on the leading edges of the wings & tail – and sometimes even some dust that’s blown across the Atlantic from the Sahara!
